Posted by: erico at Wed Mar 30 16:40:14 2005 [ Report Abuse ] [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by erico ] The terrestrial species are infrequently offered by Glades Herp (catalog at gherp.com - reliable people I've dealt with for years) The aquatics are banned from U.S. importation because they are collected in Columbia (with the tropical fish) but amphibians are arbitrarily banned from export (totally irrational, but we have to live with it). Once in a great while they get past the inspectors, but not predictably. There is a guy in Canada who will bring them into the U.S. and trans-ship from there. He is OK and I have gotten some from him. This is Typhlonectes natans. More info, if you are interested, post your e-mail address for details. People tend to favor the aquatics because they are more visible than the terrestrials, which burrow, and are easier to find.
