sorry, but i have to agree with the petco employee. i have worked at petco for 5 years, as a manager and aquatics/reptile specalist. and very often animals of all sorts escape because of poorly designed enclosures, no fault of the wage employees and management, but a fault of the corporate headquarters that are in charge of updating the stores. most get overlooked....
i've found/lost redtail boas, ball pythons, california king snakes, iguannas, tokay geckos, white spot geckos, anoles, leopard geckos, an assortment of hamsters, mice and rats, etc. sorry, none were a product of theft within the store, but due to poorly designed cages. most of the animals lost were able to be retrieved, with the exception of an extremely healthy, large and muscular tokay gecko. he's been loose for 1.5 years now is is at least a foot long if not bigger. very aggressive too! i only see him in the mornings, no one has been able to catch him. at least our store is clean of bugs
