The turtle laid the egg back in sept-it was in the water-so I figured it was done-but for some reason I stuck it in a container with moise potting soil on a shelf and basicaaly forgot about it-I was cleaning up the room and came across it-so I took another look at it-and it looks now that something is developing in it-so I set it up in nice environment and where I won't forget about it.

Do you think it will actually hatch? How long would you normally wait to find out if they will hatch? I understand that some turtles winter over .....

BTW-and I did this once before with some bad looking musk turtle eggs-and 2 of them did hatch-6 months later-in the middle of winter-and on the day I opened the container too. Cute tiny little things too. They are fine BTW.
