>>>>>>>>>ok,
first should i even get a venomoid? i've kept snakes throughout my life and love them and want to get an awesome snake without killing myself.
second, should i not get a venomoid bucause a lot of people are REALLY against it and i can see EXACTLY why. i dont want to go and get a venomoid when there are people who put a lot of time in convincing other people to not get them and by getting one i'd be destroying thier work(in a scense)
third, if i do get one, with constant handling, will it ever get tame?
and fourth, what is a good venomoid to start out with if i do get one? personally i LOVE cobras!!!!!!
thank you for your time

A couple of things regarding your post.

One, there are plenty of "awesome snakes" that are completely harmless and non-venomous. Consider one of those.

Secondly, the reason we don't want you to get a venomoid has nothing to do with "destroying our work" or anything like that. It has to do with the ethics surrounding the selfish mutilation of animals for purely human gain. We're not against venomoids for our egos.

And as lateralis stated before, venomoids can still give a very nasty bite, and should be treated the same as venomous. Further more, many venomoids are produced by amateurs (non-veternarians), and may not be done properly, leaving the snake still capable of a venomous bite. You are essentially trusting your life in the hands of an amateur you don't know, and who is primarily interested in your money. Would you trust an amateur (non-licensed) pilot to fly you across the country? Or an amateur doctor to perform surgery on you? Probably not.

If you are seriously interested in getting a venomous snake, take some time to learn the skills and techniques neccesary to safely keep them. It will be much more rewarding that way, I promise.
