I have not kept that species but I do keep and perform extensive research on Sceloporus Occidentalis. I am sure that the characteristics are fairly identical in many if not all the spiny lizards. My individuals make great displays. They are quick to run and hide if someone gets to close. I would imagine they would calm down and not hide but it is in my research interest to keep them wild at heart so I opt not to tame them down at all. I am sorry I could not be of more assistance but I am sure someone ells here could shed a little more light on your question
