From what I hear Spiny Soft shelles are very similar to Florida Soft Shells. Soft shells are very skidesh around humans compared to res's, so dont worry if he doesn't follow you around when you walk past his tank. Yes you feed softshells pretty much the same way you feed res's. Mine only eats reptomin, he won't touch fish or veggies but their available for him at all times anyway. Soft shell's like to burrow, sand is preferable, but I don't have it. Just make sure he has a nice hidey hole and feels secure.
