I was having trouble even with the teeny turtle pellets, my friend at the pet store suggested gold fish flakes. They went for the flakes immediatly. I put a little bit of chicory or romaine lettuce, something green in there too. They also like the freeze dried shrimp, but you have to break up the pieces and make them small enough to eat.
