Hey, can anyone tell me what this discoloration is on the rear vertebral scute of my spotted turtle? The rest of his shell is smooth and hard and healthy looking! He is very active and eating well. I feed him crickets, worms, ReptoMin, fish food, tiny bits of fruit, slugs, and centipedes. He has 2 lights one for UVB and 1 for heat. They are on about 8 hours a day. The inside of his aquarium is misted a few times a day except where he “suns” himself-I keep that area very dry. His water is filtered and kept so clean that even I would be willing to drink it (but I prefer Snapple) Any ideas??
