What EJ wrote may or may not be sacastic but one things for sure, it's realistic. I worked with my herd of adult redfoots for seven years before I got my first futile egg. Copulation is no assurance that you'll get eggs. As for the time before laying after copulation, if the female desides conditions are not right for laying she may not lay for months or maybe not at all. If conditions are right according to her she may lay in a few weeks. As EJ said it's not like breeding snakes or lizards. I don't see any way someone could give you even an approximate time that would be true in all situations. There are a lot of variables in tortoise breeding. The most important thing to know about tortoises are the signs that they are about to start laying, because if you don't catch them in the act of laying you wont ever find the eggs.IMO
