Redfoots are great torts. I have two of them. They need a relatively high humidity and a gradient temp in their habitats, the same as some other tortoises. They are pretty smart too...my oldest, Shellie, has learned that "dinner time" is when I clang a cow bell (they can hear low pitch sounds). She will also come to me if I call her by name...I've even tried this where she cannot see me and she can actually find me. Pretty cool. The hatchling I have "knows" when I feed her a snack in the midday. She is ready and waiting at the edge of her "cave".

Yellowfoots are equally intelligent. They are branded to be a bit more difficult to care for, but I never found this with Chelsea. However, to gain more info on a tort older than 1 1/2 years old, you'll have to have someone else answer that. Mine had congenital defects and passed away before I could really enjoy her!
