my redfoot does that, too...

he doesn't whistle with every breath or anything like that, but if he's in "alert mode" (looking up, throat pulsing, and arms pumping), he breathes more heavily and it's often whistley, though the extent varies. at first i thought that he might be ill, but he has no symptoms of illness, so i'm guessing that maybe he sometimes gets a booger or a food particle in his nose that causes it...



as long as you're keeping your redfot at good temperatures, he's eating well, has his normal activity level, and has no signs of runny eyes or nose, i personally wouldn't worry.
