Ok, I bought 2 ADFs at the fair 5 years ago. (Hardly a "reputable breeder."

I kept them in a margarita glass with an aggressive beta. They stayed in my dorm room with the windows open all winter.

Last year, I was in a car wreck and my family forgot to feed them for TWO WEEKS. They were fine.

I kept them in an aquarium for a while. The fish kept dying. I never "washed the whole thing out."

And get this: I just moved them--in a MILKJUG--from Tennessee to Idaho. I must admit: When I was driving through Colorado the cold must have gotten to them and they went into hibernation. I thought they were dead.

They live in a vase now. (Hardly that one-gallon-per-frog BS.)

AND
-I've always fed them goldfish flakes.
-I always use tap water with dechlorinating drops.
-I've never had a lid on them. They've never jumped out.
