I have a redfoot tortoise named Riggy. I feel that I take very good care of it (I think its a girl but Riggy's too young to determine sex). I custom built an enclosure that keeps a constant 70% humidity. I have both UVA and UVB bulbs. During the day its temp is between 83 and 88 degrees and at night no lower than 74. I feed Riggy escarole, romaine, kale, mustard and baby greens occasionally. She gets a strawberry and these multicolored pellets also everyday. She always has fresh water in her enclosure also. Riggy is on moist bark which I bought from a herp store. I took it to the vet for a checkup not even a week ago and the vet said it is fine. However, in the mornings Riggy has a bubble in its mouth when it yawns. It seems to gulp and breathes kind of funny. Riggy had a respiratory problem in the past but it is cleared up now and the vet said she is fine. Is there a reason for this behavior or is it common? Please respond as soon as possible.
Thank you so much.
-Gina
