Posted by: jhworley at Sun Aug 7 18:30:28 2005 [ Report Abuse ] [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by jhworley ] My painted just started shedding again, and I've noticed that he's not quite his normal self. He's normally more active and all over the tank for hours at a time. There are other things it could be though... I was away for the weekend and used an auto-feeder machine and a timer for the light. The light timer ended up malfunctioning and I would guess at best he got 2 hours of light this weekend. Also I thought that maybe he started associating the sound of the autofeeder with food, rather than me approaching the tank, so he just isn't swimming up to greet me until he figures it out that I'm feeding him again. Is there a behavior change during shedding periods? Or could the lack of light be an issue? Or is it just that I he has gotten used to the auto-feeder?
