I use and recommend a lightly moistened fine sand substrate of at least 6 to 8 inches deep. This allows the tortoise to dig a good well formed nest pocket.

>>Hi; My female Greek is looking to lay eggs and I'm wondering what the best substrate is for her to do so. I'm figuring a soil/sand mix?
