I've noticed more shedding in my painted, as well as a ton of more basking.... the room that he is in is airconditioned and he gets the same amount of light each day, so he can't tell that fall is coming on... I'd assume it might be a biological clock, but I'm no biologist, so I'm not one to say for sure.
