it does look like some kind of musk.. or possibly a striped mud turtle.. the color can vary a lot as adults as i understand it.. if you could get a closer pic or one with his head and shell better it might be easier to identify...
this is a link to photos of musk genus.. maybe someone else can identify by that pic though..
