hi. i am not an expert or breeder. my candoia paulsoni ground boa finally went into shedding. her last shed was 4-5 months ago. she shed before i bought her back may.
i've heard they eat frogs, too, but i guess i happen to have gotten one that eats mice. she took a f/t hopper the other day even though she went into shedding. my milk snake wouldn't eat it so didn't want to waste it and tried her with it. she has a great feeding response. all i do is wiggle it a bit and she goes for it. sometimes not even that, if i drop it in she will come out and grab it.
i can't wait till she sheds to see how her colors are. she doesn't seem to need that much more care then my corns or milk. she is the only one of my snakes that i've actually seen soaking in her water bowl (no i don't have mites). that is the only big difference i've read about them. is that they love to soak.
just my experienc in the short time i've had my candoia.
