If paper towel is what you are used to using, then use it for the AFT also. I have used cypress bark,top soil, bed-a-best and indoor/outdoor carpet, and have had no problems with any of these. It's recomended you don't use anything that they might swallow if they are six months old or younger. As they get older they become better aims , and are less likely to ingest any substrate.
