I posted this on the slider forum and received no response. I did not realize there was a painted turtle forum.

I am interested in obtaining information as to whether there are any heat related problems concerning Chrysemys picta ssp. They are available here, but expensive. In Southeast Asia, it is very hot throughout the year and I am concerned it may be too hot to maintain this species successfully in such a hot climate. Our average "Cold Season" high temperatures are about 30°C (86°F) and Hot Season high temperatures average 37°-38°C (99°-101°F). Chrysemys scripta elegans does quite well here and has become a pest species in urban areas, but they seem to thrive just about anywhere.
