Natrual sun would be great for your turtle. However, put it's cage in an area where he can retreat to shave from the sun, and never leave a reptile outside in a glass tank they will cook! Your best bet is to build a pen for your turtle that they cant escape. This way he will be able to choose between the sun and the shade, catch bugs to eat, and feed on grasses (beware of pesticides. Nothing is better than natrual sunlight!
