I also have a western painted, he's about 10 months old now and if I set the heater much below 80, he gets sluggish and buries himself in the pebbles right next to the heater... if I turn it up to about 80, he becomes his active self again, the little guy is so cute when he climbs his log and the cannon balls into the tank.
