My cousin recently aquired a yearling female rosy boa that has an obvious problem around it's mouth. He has had it for about 4 weeks and it still has not eaten. Around the mouth it has a black residue on both the upper and lower labials. It almost looks like black paint. I am sure it is some form of infection, but what...I don't know. The snake still uses it's tounge and keeps it's mouth closed most of the time. The weight still looks good and it is active. He has tried a variety of food items...small hopper and fuzzy mice, and even lizards. It still shows no interest. Does anyone know what could be the problem with this rosy...I would hate to see it die. Suggestions anyone?

Thanks
Tony
