They are on the warmer side(away from the window) but it gets cool there also. I have lots of these ceramic heat bulbs that I hook up for my birds when it's cold. I have some small wattage ones that are much cooler than the mercury vapor bulb. You think that would work to keep them warmer at night when their lights are off?
