>>Our baby(yearling)Squirt, is a picky eater. He loves worms but that's about it. He hates Reptomin and spits it out like its disgusting. I've also tried frozen brine shrimp and bloodworms. He doesn't seem to care for fruit or veggies or lettuce. He will eat a bit of fresh fish, sometimes.

What type of painted is the baby Squirt? My western painted boy is going on 12 years old & he's ALWAYS been a picky little snot.

As a baby he tended to stick to the carnivore side of life, he wouldn't take much in the way of vegetation until he was around 5 years or so & even now he doesn't care too much for anything that is a plant.
He likes crickets but he won't eat roaches. He likes mealworms and earthworms but he won't eat nightcrawlers, he'll eat grubworms but not waxworms. He likes bloodworms but not glassworms, tubifex worms, or plankton.. he's picky!
He loves live fish, he likes brine shrimp & there is a frozen food made by San Fransisco Bay Brand called Emerald Delight that has some greens in it, he'll eat that. They also make a frozen aquatic turtle diet, he likes that but lately I can't find it in the pet store.

For pellets he'll eat Reptomin & Reptotreat & he liked the Walkabout Farm pellet foods but then they stopped selling it.
He will not eat Pretty Pets, Wardleys, RepCal, T-Rex, HBH(?) I think HBH is the brand.
Anything that's fruity smelling is a no.
He sometimes will eat Mazuri pellets but isn't very interested in them.
A week ago I bought this new Ectotherm brand Aquatic Turtle Yummies.. he didn't find them to be very yummy.

Over the years I've wasted a lot of $ on different foods, if it didn't get eaten I'd throw it outside & the wild birds would eat it. Then I started breeding live foods for turtles, all my turtles will eat these bugs, except the painted lol!!
Now when I buy a pellet that no turtles will eat I just feed it to the bugs so it's not wasted.
About all you can do is keep trying different things & if you have to throw out any foods, try the birds.
Good luck I know how annoying this can be!
