This is good! Some success is always good.
Now is the time for him to get used to trying new foods because if you can get a baby to try new things he's more likely to not be so picky as he gets older.
I've always tried new things with mine, I still do try even though he won't always go for something new. He was a captive bred hatchling when I bought him & even though he is somewhat picky I am still able to give him a fairly wide variety of foods that he will eat. The more variety in foods the better for him because we can't completely duplicate his natural diet in captivity.
We've been very lucky with him the only health problem he's ever had was parasites & that so far has happened only one time. He was treated & that was the end of it. We have him tested at least once a year for parasites to make sure he stays free of them.
