lizard from southern Bahia Brazil

These were all over an ecoresort I stayed at in Corumbau, Brazil in southern Bahia. I also spotted one in nearby Praia de Espelho, and I think in Tijuca park in Rio de Janeiro (I think). They stayed on the ground most of the time, ascended small trees and bushes to flee and once that I saw to display (head bobs).

These were big ones (8-10 inches?). Smaller ones were more strongly patterned. All had that dark spot/dash above the shoulder.
