I need to know how many scales a probe will go into the tail for the female and the male of naja kaouthia. I sexed a snake that was supposed to be a female, but the probe slid in a good bit. It went in almost an inch probably about 6-8 scales in. I was thinking that it was a male, but have read that different species may vary with the length of the scent glands in the female. Does anyone know how far the probe goes in for each sex on the monocled cobra?

Thanks,
Justin Gosnell
