I would take both of them to the vet ASAP. That is obviously not normal, nor can it be caused by something minor that you can treat at home. A vet will be able to help you out, and the longer you wait the more you risk losing your new frilleds to something that may be treatable in an early stage and maybe not so treatable in an advanced stage.
