They get bigger than most day geckos, but still only about 9" long. I find them very hardy and not shy at all. Mine will come right up and eat out of my fingers. They never run for cover when i enter the room, but instead stay out in plain sight where i can admire them. They will also hang out on my hand or arm without being frightened. The other 2 species you are considering are often Wild Caught animals (grandis too, be careful) and don't live too long.
