If you keep terrestrial caecilians, I would very much appreciate the following information. If you want to email it to me directly, my email is: dennis.parmley@gcsu.edu. I am trying to put together a “general care sheet,” and any information or help would be much appreciated. THANKS. Dennis Parmley
1. What type of cage/container do you house caecilians in, and what size is it?
2. What type of substrate do you use (as specific as possible)?
3. What depth of substrate do you maintain in your cage?
4. How moist do you maintain the substrate (approximately)?
5. Do you check the pH of the substrate, and if so, what do you try to maintain it at?
6. What temperature (or temperature range) do you maintain them at – as specific as possible?
7. Do you use any type of heat tape or other heat source with your cages?
8. What do you feed your specimens, and how often do you feed them?
9. ANY other comments/suggestion that may be useful -
