I know people won't go crazy over the latest pictures of California Kingsnakes as they do other species, but I thought that I'd show off a couple of shots that define my little guy.

In one, he's using his log hides, and he does that about 10% of the time. He usually doesn't show his head, so when he peeked, I took a picture. In the other, he's peeking out from under the water bowl where he likes to hide. This little bowl is a cheapie that I asked the pet store to put in his cage a week before I bought him. He was shedding and didn't have a bowl big enough for him to soak. They gave him this one and sold it to me with him. He likes using it for a hide, so I leave it in the cage even though it looks a little funny. He's grown slightly and has problems getting completely under the bowl, so he just lifts it onto his back when he's hiding underneath.

It's not how many snakes you have. It's how happy and healthy you can keep them.
