The atic may be too warm for your crested gecko, especially if it often reaches over 80F. Crested geckos do best when kept at temps around 75F. Consistant temps over 80F, especially with young crested geckos, is very stressful and they can die from heat stress.

You deffinitely won't need any heat sources at all in your crested gecko tank, if room temps are within their ideal range. I wouldn't even use a light, as even a low watt bulb may increase the cage temp over 80F. Ambient light from your room lights or window will be fine. I don't use any additional lighting or heating for my crested geckos at all. In fact, in the summer, there were times the room temp was over 80F and I had to move my crested geckos out of my bedroom into the living room where the AC was, to ensure they didn't get too hot during the hot summer days (yes, it does get above freezing up here in Canada LOL, several summer days were as high as 85F or more). As I use clear sterlite type containers as cages, they get plenty of light from windows or lights during the day.

As the others have suggested, reading over crested gecko care sheets (or even better, picking up the 'Rhacodactylus: The Complete Guide to their Selection and Care' book by Philippe de Vosjoli, it is full of great info on crested gecko care (as well as other rhacs) and full color photos it is an invaluable reference for anybody who keeps or plans to keep crested geckos. You will also find other rhacs that are great pets as well.
