Even when you find a pet shop that handles many reptiles, they would rarely know the difference between Peruvian, Colombian, Brazilian, etc... This is the same reason those new to the hobby call Colombian BCI "REDTAILS". And why when you walk into a pet shop you see Colombian BCI selling as REDTAIL BOAS. Would a newbie rather buy a boa labelled as "Common Colombian Boa" or "Colombian Redtail Boa?" Who wants what is common? And now many stores even have Central Americans selling as redtails. That's my rant. Good pet shops are out there. But you have to look mighty hard to find them, and even then they will not have true locality boas. [ Hide Replies ]
