when I move around and block some areas of the light it changes the lightings color slightly.. so even though there is a single light source, with more or less shadow the kelvin changes. To do it right I would have had to take a grey card shot for every angle I did... I did do 3 or 4 though... for the most part they are dead on.

I do my calibration in post processing. Take a grey card shot and calibrate it to that using Nikon Capture afterwards. I could calibrate the actual camera but that is more of a pain.
