mist the snake itself. If you put your sprayer on the finest mist, and aim well above the snake so that it just falls down on them they don't seem to freak out too much and they get wet. I have a couple snakes that I have to be careful keeping too wet and thats what I do, they all shed well. That way, they cage stays fairly dry but they can absorb some moisture.
