I have the pedestal and IMO don't like it. I have full stacks of 6 cages and the pedestal makes the upper cage too high to take care of without a stepstool. I am 6'1" so my height is not the issue. I do like the bottom cage off the floor. I made a rolling cart similar to a furniture dolly used by movers but sized exactly to the boaphile cage. It is about half the height of the pedestal (5 or 6 inches tall) and for me lowering the top cage by that much is the difference between needing a step or not to be able to clean etc.
If you are not planning on stacking the cages so high, the pedestal would be great. I have lots of snakes to house and can't afford the vertical space. ----- Thanks,
