You can use a single probed thermostat to run several cages as long as they need the same temps, are the same size and have the same heating element as long as you do not go over the wattage limitations of the themrostat. There are proportional stats that have multiple probes like the herpstat 2 and the HCS.. These are more expensive of course as they are basically multiple stat in one
