but I think the claim that they cannot see the light is not entirely true. I recall threads from long ago about it and it is something that often gets discussed on a tarantula forum I visit. See what others say. I like the CHE I mentioned earlier. I live in NH and we keep the house cool at night. I used to use the heat emitter for my geckos.
