I would definately find a pair or trio of snakes that you are personally most interested in. Do your research on the snakes that you choose, so you know how to set them up,take care of them, ect. Once you have done that, don't worry if anyone has bred them before, you can do anything that you set your mind to. I remember when I first got tricolored hogs, they were really expensive and everyone that bred them was telling me "how hard they are to keep", well, scroll down on this forum and see how hard they are really to breed. Mine started breeding without trouble, was no rocket science involved, seems these people just wanted to discourage me so they could get the ridiculous prices they were asking. I am not saying that everyone is like that, but there are people like that. The point is, don't listen to people that tell you that you can't do something, they generally have other motives. To answer your question about what kind of snakes are fairly simple and have less babies, I would definately say to start with live bearers, such as kenyan sand boas, but get adults, because they grow REALLY slow and you will be waiting along time to breed them. If you don't mind incubation and feel confident enough, then definately go for hognoses(westerns or tricolors). But it really depends on what you are most interested in, I am not you and vice/versa. Hope I helped.
LOL
