Peublans tend to grow quickly on a good diet and some people push them to breed at 18 months.
While its possible to breed them at only 18 months, I prefer to give my females an extra year for growth. For example, for a 2004 summer hatchling, I would wait until the spring of 2007 to breed her. That way she'd get almost 2 1/2 years of feeding and growth before she was brumated and bred the following spring.
If you breed a female too early, you'll end up with smaller clutches and a smaller female that may never reach her potential in size.
Good luck.
