Three different breeders in germany have bred Sonorans and produced leopards, so there are three strains (compatibility is unknown).
A well known locality Boa breeder (name withheld for privacy on public forum) talked to Hans and Hans mentioned that there was no definitive proof to the original locale of the Normals which produced the Leopards.
This breeder also mentioned the differences between Hans' "sonorans" and the Sonorans here in the US. He said that the Hets looked much like the Normals that first produced the Blood Boas (El Salvador animals brought in by Ron St. Pierre).

One other breeder in Germany has produced what he is calling the Black Pearl, proven genetic, and produced from pure Costa Rican BCI (from the same serpentarium the US stock is from) I believe the locale that produced the Black Pearl was the Western phase. The Black Pearl looks like a Leopard, but is a little darker (I don't think any US breeders have seen them in person).

If you would like the contacts, email me.
Thanks,
Chris
