Good question!

IMO, I do believe the possible het is worth more than the known normal. It is a less expensive way to get into the morphs. BUT, as you indicated you could be getting a normal and wasting time. For that reason I went mainly with 100% hets for my BCI projects. Cost me more up front, but I felt it was worth the extra coin. If the possible hets were around 1/3 the price of the 100$ hets, then it could be worth it to get three and if odds work out, you should have two hets and one normal. I don't like to gamble that way. Putting years into raising up to find out you have normals.

Also, I plan my breeding pairs around producing 100% hets where possible. For example, my male albino, het anery paired with my female anery het albino. Outcome should be 25% snow, 25% albino het anery, 25% anery het albino and 25% double hets.

Again IMO, 100% hets (at market pricing) have to be easier to sell than possibles at any price above normals.
