A year ago I never thought I would buy a poss het for the reasons that you have stated. But I have now changed my mind. This season I hope to produce some hypos 100% het for albinos. This past season I bought three female hypos 66% poss dh sunglows (hypos 66% poss het albinos). I am planning on taking three males from my litter and breed them with the three poss hets girls in a few years. Hopefully two of the three girls will turn out being het for albino. The other reason is because the sunglows produced will be poss super Sharp sunglows, which is what I really want. I paid about $3000 for the three girls. I thought this was a better choice than buying just one 100% het for about the same price. Will shall see. I also remember someone saying they proved out something like 10 out of 13 animals to be 100% hets. But then again he could have only proved out three of them. It is definately a risk. But I just can't wait until I know what these three girls really are. As far as people selling normal animals as poss hets I'm sure it happens. I would recommend buying from a breeder with a good reputaion and ask to see pics of the entire litter. Hopefully if he/she took enough shots you would be able to pick out the baby that you want. I say its worth the risk. Good luck.
