there are many ways you can sanitize branches.
here, i soak mine in a 1:10 bleach to water solution in the bath tub for a couple of hours after shagging off a little bit of the bark.
then i stand everything up in the tub, and put a box fan blowing directly in the branches.
you can let the air dry, or bake in the sun for a day or two to properly dry them out too.
just make sure there is no smell of bleach when you put them into the enclosure and you shouldn't have any problem.
