I just wanted to get some comments on some animals....

This is Martha, She has red tint eyes and a wonderful high contrast pattern.....anyone have any comments? I would love to hear what you think....



She just produced another litter on Dec. 12th 2005, (4 salmons and 8 normals). Again the results were shocking....There are 3 different looks within the two catagories normal and salmons....

Here are some pics of the normals....these 2 are littermates...but notice the color difference...hopefully it shows up for you...but half the normals are these pink colored very contrast colors and the others are the normal dark type normals...









These pink babies also have red eyes....like mom does...

Hard to say with the salmons...lol...because they all have red eyes..lol....

This little girl was produced from the first breeding Feb. 3rd, 2005....

I was of the understanding that these were most likely some type of co-dom trait...but do you think this could be recessive? I believe that this same pink trait must be what intensified the salmons to cause them to be so brightly colored...but then again this is only a guess, until further breedings are done.

I will attempt to breed one of the males I produced last year back to the mom....this male looks like it came out with some sort of albinism to it...it has weird colors going on with it...and it lacks pigment in alot of areas....she did not produce another one of these this last litter...so it will be interesting to see what she produces when he is bred back to her.

The most interesting part of all this is..... that in this last litter..she was bred by a totally unrelated salmon male and the origional male salmon was put in at the very end....there is only one baby that came out looking like the babies of the first breeding and he is a salmon baby....all the others show a distinct difference related to the fathers....but yet this pink coloration of approx. half of the litter is still very much present....this verifies to me at least that the mom is the carrier of whatever gene is causing these babies to color this way...

The one closest to front is from last years male used...the type to back is from the father used for second breeding...
