amber, by the looks of the pic i would say it was just too large of a meal. i usually select a prey animal that will barely "show" on the snake (the girth of the prey animal to not exceed the girth of the snakes mid-body) , or 2-3 much smaller prey animals, which they probably digest easier anyway. hope this helps, john yocum
