I used to use CHE's (now RHP's), and when the females became gravid, I'd place a hard plastic heat pad used for dog houses - top temp was 95 on the pad. They'd usually rest on part of it now and then, especially closer to the due date. Their are now reptile heat mats/pads for inside cages that would be good for these times. check the direct temps on them with a temp gun and adjust accordingly. I've had Boas born on newspapers and Aspen. It's true they will mess the cage up looking for the most hidden spot.
Glad to hear that you're already making thoughtful preparations this early. A sign of a good keeper --- or an anxious one at least ...LOL, David
