I've come to the concusion that I can handle them freely without issue under certain circumstances: Not at night, not when they are really hungry. Daytime and well fed and I handle them casually and they just crawl around like a big kingsnake.
I also have a personal aversion to bites. Even if a non-venomous snake bites me, I jerk back. It's reflexive and I can't help it. IF a mussurana bites me, I'll probably jerk back so fast nothing could happen. No rear-fang should be allowed to hold on if it bites you.
I appreciate all the positive vibes from everyone and hopefully we can makes these a bit more common in people's collections.

>>Congratulations Doug, that is quite an accomplishment and you are a bold entrepreneur...I hope you make back your considerable investment but more important, have fun and keep learning. Someday I will try my luck with them...
>>BTW, tell us about them, what is there temperment like? Can you free handle them without much risk? Do the hatchlings take readily to rodents? Good luck with the incubation...this is really exciting. Vic
