yah, I sent one of my females out on breeding loan this season. For some its a good way to get new bloodlines... for others its a good way to get something to start with. I sunk all my money into recessive traits, and still do, so this is the only way I will get a co-dom animal. For the owners of the males, if they are not going to utilize them with atleast 3 or 4 females, I considder it a wasted investment. Now you just have to figure out who to trust with the eggs... this will be the first year I have done a breeding loan, but its a pastel to normal female, so I think they can do the eggs. If it was a het female of some type, I would have a problem with that I think. Any more a GOOD older normal female is worth almost more than a male pastel though... I am keeping my finges crossed everthing goes to plan. I wouldnt just trust anyone with your animals though... have a plan for if things go bad. We did a contract for this, so I will atleat get a male patel out of it if nothing else. I paid $350 to do the breeding loan, but I am in hope of a female pastel, after I get the first pastel, we split the rest. I am sure there are many ways of doing this, but this way benifited both of us.
